Hi Isorod
Had a private e-mail from Kim when I got back wasn't sure if she was aware of your situation so updated her hope you don't mind.

She has had a terrible time of it over the last year not surprised she has made the decision to put it all on the back burner for a bit, hope she gets back on forum to give and receive the support of others
Take Care

Hi David,
I do not have a problem with other people knowing our situation. I have always felt that to document experiences good or bad can help other sufferers / carers on these forums. I did update Kim briefly and pointed her to my thread 'Colon Cancer' on CC and here. Kim has been a miss also moms on both forums, it seems Kim misses J (as do we all) and has found it difficult to post - now that she has returned I hope she will continue to post. Cheers, isorod.

Hi David,
Thank you for your message. Rod is having his treatment as an out patient, 2nd one to day and it has caught up with him fast!! Not sure if it is solely to do with treatment or the cancer working over time of because he is missing his afternoon nap, whatever we will cope woth it as just over a week to surgery. Not sure if you have seen Tony's postS on CC, he has colon cancer and had surgery two weeks ago and is not posting yet. I had hoped to follow his post op recovery but seems it is a bit delayed. Appreciate your posts. off to phone you now .isorod.

Hi Isobel

I feel I can offer no help at the moment for you.

I have no experience with regards the ins and outs of Rods cancer so I keep quiet - but I am thinking of you both, please do not let my silence indicate I do not care - I just keep my mouth shut in matters I know nothing about .

My best wishes are yours xx Deborah (Tigger/ Beccaboo)

Hi Deborah,
Thanks for your message and I fully understand your way of thinking as I tend to post on the threads where I feel comfortable in and avoid the other ones. Rod is into his third treatment today so only two more to go then a few days to gather his thoughts and then surgery on 22nd.

It is amazing that the NCCC at Freeman Hospital Radiotherapy department was open today with two staff for Rod and the same tomorrow. I hope this does not breach the terms and conditions of the forum - well it will not be the forst time I have had the wrists slapped!!!

Enjoy your half term break and hope the lympfoedema is resolving. Isobel.

Hi Isobel

The journey from your home to the Freemen must be terrible without a car - are they providing patient transport for you both ?

Hope the surgery goes OK today, sending you both all the positive vibes I can muster.

Beccaboo xx

Hi Deborah,
Thanks for your message and kind thoughts. Rod had transport from the local hospice to Freeman each day - personal service - straight there and back which was very good. No charge but I will certainly be giving them another donation.
Yesterday was admission day, to the hospital at North Shields for 9am, nothing to eat after breakfast only water and tea without milk. Two lots of prep to drink over the day in between sitting on the toilet which he has done for the last two months!!
It was a long day yeterday and another long one today - have to ring at 4pm - may be in HDU or back to the ward, fingers crossed. I am not visiting today, not sure that was a good decision or not as I feel concerned and low - not me normally but even after all Rod has been through this seems to be the worst and the hardest to cope with. We have both been very positive up till now and when Rod rang last night he was still up beat so I had to be also but not feeling confident or hopeful - roll on 4pm. Isobel.
